Tim Radcliffe
Your Experienced Dog Trainer
With over 30 years of hands-on experience in dog training, I am passionate about helping dogs and their owners build strong, positive relationships. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a wide variety of dogs, including 18 years with the New Zealand Police Dog Section, 22 years in Land Search and Rescue Dogs and 4 years in the Aviation Security Explosive Detector Dog Unit.
Now, I am focused on sharing my extensive knowledge to help domestic pet dogs become well-behaved, confident and enjoyable members of your family. My goal is to guide you and your dog through a process of mutual understanding, where your dog can make better choices and learn to thrive in your home.

I bring a wealth of expertise in dog behaviour, puppy development and advanced training techniques such as shaping new behaviours, counter-conditioning undesirable habits, and problem-solving. My approach is rooted in engagement—ensuring a strong, positive bond between you and your dog. I work with integrity, dedication and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for every dog and owner I work with.
Through years of experience in diverse and high-pressure environments, I’ve developed a deep understanding of dog behaviour and know how to tailor the right training method for each individual dog and their unique needs.

Basic Training
ONE ON ONE SESSIONS
My One-on-One Basic Training sessions are designed to build a strong foundation of good manners and clear communication between you and your dog. We’ll work together to teach your dog to listen, engage and respond positively to your cues, creating a harmonious bond that sets the stage for more advanced training.
Through consistent and effective training methods, we’ll focus on essential skills like leash walking, shaping a reliable recall and improving obedience in everyday situations. Each session is tailored to your dog’s needs, ensuring they progress at a comfortable pace while you gain the confidence and tools needed to maintain consistent training.
$170 Initial SESSION

Behaviour Modification
PLUS: COUNTER CONDITIONING & REACTIVITY
ONE ON ONE SESSIONS
My Behaviour Modification sessions focus on helping your dog overcome reactive behaviours and make better decisions in challenging situations. Whether it’s fear, frustration or over-excitement we’ll work together to reshape undesirable responses through counter conditioning techniques. This process gradually replaces negative behaviours with more positive, manageable reactions.
During the first session, I’ll assess your dog’s specific needs and give you a clear understanding of the approach, timeline, and realistic goals for progress. Each session is tailored to your dog’s unique behaviour, ensuring we move at a pace that’s both effective and comfortable.
$200 Initial SESSION
Notes: Follow-Up Sessions $170.

Health and Safety Education Services
My health and safety education services focus on teaching how to interact with dogs in a safe and responsible way. I provide guidance on reading canine body language, recognising signs of stress or discomfort and understanding proper handling techniques to ensure both human and dog well-being. Whether you’re a dog owner, caregiver or professional my training helps prevent accidents, promotes positive interactions and ensures a safe, respectful environment for everyone involved.

My companion dog training
FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Tailored to create strong supportive relationships between dogs and their owners. I specialise in training dogs to provide emotional support, assistance and comfort. My training focuses on enhancing communication, building trust and ensuring that both the dog and handler have a positive fulfilling experience. I am committed to helping improve the quality of life for individuals with special needs through the support of a well-trained companion dog.

Board & Train for Puppies (8–16 Weeks)
Give your puppy the ultimate head start with my board and train program designed specifically for puppies aged 8 to 16 weeks. While you’re busy I provide expert care, structure and socialisation during your puppy’s most critical learning window.
Program Highlights:
Crate training & housebreaking.
Name recognition & basic obedience (sit, come, down, stay).
Socialisation with people, environments and safe dogs.
Bite inhibition & handling desensitisation.
Introduction to leash walking & polite manners.

Puppy Training
ONE ON ONE SESSIONS
My One-on-One Puppy Training sessions are designed to give you and your puppy a solid foundation for building a strong and effective communication bond. In these personalised, hands-on sessions, we’ll work together to establish the core skills and positive behaviours that will set your puppy up for success in the outside world.
This training is for puppies aged 8-20 weeks, focusing on essential socialisation, basic commands and teaching your puppy how to understand and respond to your cues. The session allows for a tailored approach to meet your specific needs and challenges, creating a positive, consistent training experience.

Puppy Training:
Trainer Alone Training
My Trainer Alone Training sessions offer your puppy the opportunity to explore new and exciting environments under the guidance of a professional trainer. This is an ideal option for pups who need socialisation and exposure to different settings while building the foundation of clear communication with their owner.
During these sessions, I will lead your puppy through various experiences ensuring they learn to navigate the world confidently and calmly. At the same time I’ll be conditioning a shared language that will allow you to continue the progress once the session is complete. It’s a great way to give your puppy a head start in their training journey.
